Following the DOWIP feasibility workshop, where Dr. Yasmine from GUtech was in attendance, the TFIW/ODO team was invited by her to visit the German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech). The meeting was attended by the team led by Rector Prof. Dr. Michael Braun and Deputy Rector Dr. Hussain Al Salmi, who provided an insightful overview of GUtech’s establishment, ongoing research, and the university’s recent progress in various fields.

During the meeting, TFIW/ODO introduced the Oman Deep Ocean Industrial Park (DOWIP) project, highlighting its vision and scope. The teams engaged in discussions with GUtech representatives, exploring potential collaboration in both academic and professional areas. This includes opportunities for research partnerships, internships, and other services provided by GUTech such as lab analyses and tests.

The visit concluded with a brief tour of GUtech’s labs and campus. We appreciate the warm reception and are excited to explore these new opportunities together.
